VIRAL: The bittersweet plight of OFWs takes the spotlight in this powerful ad campaign

IOM X, an International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) innovative campaign that encourages safe migration and public action to stop exploitation and human trafficking has published a very moving and powerful ad that highlights how some people's actions affect their very own family.
Entitled Open Doors: Singapore, the ad features a family who recently hired a domestic helper to work for them.

The mother, a typical busy woman, imposed strict rules onto the worker and violated her country's own laws by confiscating the helper's passport and prohibiting her from having day offs.

One night, the employer had to work late at night, so she woke up her helper to cook food for her.

The helper was about to serve the food to her employer when the unfortunate happened.

Little did she know, what she thought was nothing actually had a much bigger impact on her family.
