After altercation with Duterte Youth, Jim Paredes files patent for 'EDSA 1 Commemoration' rights?

'Tingnan mo ako sa mata!'

'Look at me! You can't even look. Duwag!'

'Alis d'yan!'

'Bingi ba kayo? Hindi kayo aalis!?'

'Uwi! Layas! Nambabastos kayo!

These were the rants hurled by the organizers of the EDSA 1 commemoration led by Jim Paredes to the members of Duterte Youth at the EDSA Monument yesterday.

Apparently, Paredes and his camp were incensed by the presence of Duterte Youth, a group comprised of people who support President Duterte.

Paredes and his comrades were complaining about their presence despite the fact that Paredes invited everyone, regardless of their political stand, to the event. 'Not just yellow!,' Paredes posted on Twitter earlier that day.

Many Filipino netizens expressed their disdain to Paredes and his cohorts for their unruly conduct. No matter how you see it, it is absolutely wrong to shoo away anyone form the area- EDSA Monument is a public place after all. EVERYONE has the right to be there no matter what the circumstance is.

Veteran columnist Malou Tiquia writes...
Why there is a disconnect...on the other hand, the Duterte Youth has been mocked since Day 1. But ppl do not get it. That is a form of silent protest. You don't need a multitude. You just need 7 courageous individuals w their tarp, no shouts but with raised fists. And when taunted, they just hold their ground. I have seen some of the members of this group. They attended the Federalism mtgs. Quiet, taking down notes n expressing their thoughts.

If Paredes did that to my cohorts, there would have been a rumble. But the Duterte Youth taught us a lot and in their own ways, the future may just be alright...

Columnist Tonyo Cruz also said:

And this...

On Twitter, Paredes defended their action saying 'They disrespected us by even being there.'

And this...

Wow!

My unsolicited advice for Jim Paredes, file a patent at the Intellectual Property Office for the Commemoration of EDSA 1.

Once granted, that will give you a legal right to ask anyone you dislike to leave your party. Until then, EDSA Monument remains a public domain and every Filipino will never compelled to leave the premises just because your politics don't align with theirs.

Get that?
