#Throwback: First 2016 Presidential Debate - Duterte, Binay, Santiago, Poe and Roxas

For the first time since 1992, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) held debates for presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2016 Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections.

The first presidential debate was held at the Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City on February 21, 2016. All five presidential aspirants — Jejomar Binay, Miriam Defensor Santiago, Rodrigo Duterte, Grace Poe and Mar Roxas — attended the debate.

The Mindanao debate, which was hosted by GMA 7 and the Philippine Daily Inquirer, focused on the track record of the candidates, as well as resolving poverty and various issues in the Mindanao region.
