After they were invited by the PNP to join the police in their operations to make sure that EJKs are not committed, the CBCP has finally responded.

They are not interested in participating any of it.
O ayaw sumama ng CBCP sa Oplan Tokhang. Punyeta, ayan na, binibigyan na kayo ng pagkakataon na kayo mismo ang mag-apply ng inyong turo eh ayaw ninyo? -Sass Rogando Sasot

Filipinos immediately aired their opinions in their respective social media accounts. Here are some of them:

"This CBCP is just good at complaining and pointing fingers to what is wrong forgetting the fact that they too have skeletons in their closets.... binigyan na ng pagkakataon naduwag na.... hypocrites..."

"Pero pag sa misa o kaya sa harap ng camera, ang lakas ng loob pumutak laban kay duterte."

"Kaya di na ako nagsisimba ng may pari..nagsisimba ako pag bukas ang simbahan, tapos nagdarasal nalang ako ng taimtim....wala na akong tiwala sa kaparian..... makaasta kala mo mga divine!!!

Putak ng Putak sa tokhang at ejk, ngayun sinasama na para makita nila ang tunay na mukha ng illegal drugs world...ayaw??
BIG NYETA kayo!!!!!"

"I am one of the millions supporting CBCP's decision. Yes, we support your previous decision to let your priests participate in Operation Tokhang activities. You aborted your plan though so I, together with other millions of Filipinos, am appealing to your organization to reconsider joining the operations. If you do so, we will be supportive in prayers."

UPDATE: CBCP won't join Tokhang even with Kevlar vests, helmets

“If they want to join us, we’re open. Halimbawa, meron kaming iseserve na search warrant sa isang drug laboratory or sa isang high-value target then gustong sumama ng mga pari, we will provide them with bulletproof vests and helmet para sumabay sila doon mag-assault (For example, we would serve a search warrant on a drug laboratory or a high-value target then priests would like to join, we will provide them with bulletproof vests and helmet so they can go with the assault),” the tough-talking police chief said in a media conference at Camp Crame.

“This time we will make sure this will become less bloody if not bloodless campaign,” Dela Rosa said in a speech before Crame-based officers during the weekly flag-raising ceremony.

Under the relaunched drug war, Dela Rosa said the PNP will continue its operations against high-value targets and Tokhang operations, which have been “revalidated.”

“Ang pinaka importante dyan ‘yung chiefs of police at ‘yung barangay kapitan pero i-encourage natin sila na may imbitahan na pari (The most important would be the chiefs of police and the village chief but we encourage them to invite a priest),” he said.
