Media got it wrong. Again! Duterte didn't close his doors on same-sex marriage

"If it makes the gays happy, let them be. It is their choice."

"Whatever pleases your existence. We're just going to live once. Just don't violate the law. Period." -President Duterte on same-sex marriage
The Mainstream Media Hyenas, Rappler and INQUIRER.net, rushed to declare that Duterte is against same sex marriage. The fact is he was only stating the law of the Philippines that limits marriage between men and women. Upon his arrival in Manila today, 22 March, Duterte was asked again by someone from Inquirer about the issue.

Duterte's response was quite long. It started with his questions about the authenticity of the story of Adam and Eve. When we met Duterte in February, he told us that he doesn't subscribe to organized religion at all.

Duterte then clarified his position, which the attached clip shows. Contrary to what Rappler and Inquirer are saying, he is not closing his door to same sex marriage. He just cannot allow it because it is against our CURRENT law. The problem is not Duterte but our current law.

Duterte's personal position is simple: "If it makes the gays happy, let them be." Duterte wants everyone to leave this universe, "happy and fulfilled."
