PHL economic managers to bring more 'Dutertenomics' abroad

BEIJING, May 15 -- A senior economic manager of the Duterte administration has revealed plans to bring to the international scene the economic and social development blueprint called "Dutertenomics" in future visits abroad, with high hopes to attract and boost foreign investments.

This, after "Dutertenomics" successfully debuted in the international stage in Cambodia during the visit of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for the World Economic Forum last week.

"We really want our socio-economic agenda be understood by the world... Pres. Duterte's programs are not just about drugs," Trade and Industry Sec. Ramon Lopez said at a press briefing Sunday evening at Grand Hyatt Hotel here.

"Dutertenomics" and the massive trillion-peso infrastructure plan dubbed as "Build, Build, Build" will be presented anew to foreign businessmen on Monday (May 15), at the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum here.

Launched prior to the ASEAN 30th Leaders Summit in Manila late last month, "Dutertenomics" aims to accelerate poverty reduction and transform the Philippines into a high- to middle-income country by 2022. (PNA)
