The move earned praises among Uson's supporters amid the ongoing 'cold war' between Rappler and supporters of President Duterte.

"Rappler, headed by its war freak founder Maria Ressa, has made it a mission to suppress prominent supporters of President Duterte who have large following on social media, mainly because they are Rappler's competition. It's high time to put them where they rightly belong."

"Been wondering if this was ever gonna happen. To me, Rappler is a platform for bloggers, so yeah, it's not really technically mainstream or traditional media.

Good going, Assistant Secretary Esther Margaux Uson!,"
Mike Acebedo Lopez quipped after learning the news.

Thinking Pinoy also welcomed the developement saying:

RAPPLER AS SOCMED? BUWAHAHAHA!
