Mocha to Leni: Face me eyeliner to eyeliner; 'Ang fake news ay ikaw'

MANILA - Former Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson fired back Thursday at Vice President Leni Robredo after her camp warned that the former's resignation from office will not spare her from liability over her gaffes.
Uson, in a Senate budget hearing on Wednesday, said she was quitting from the Presidential Communications Operations Office as a "sacrifice" so that its budget would be approved.

In an interview with UNTV, the former Palace official claimed it is the Vice President who is full of lies.

"Alam n'yo kung kasinungalingan lang, nako, sino kaya ang totoong sinungaling? Maski nga iyang posisyon n'yo bilang VP ay isang malaking kasinungalingan," she said.

(When it comes to lies, who else is the true liar? Even your position as Vice President is a big lie.)

Robredo is facing an election protest by former Senator Bongbong Marcos, who claimed that massive cheating in the 2016 elections led to his narrow loss to the Vice President. She has denied the allegation.

Uson told Robredo: "Katulad nga po ng sinabi ko, patas na ang laban ngayon. Wala akong tinatago, wala akong kinakatakutan. Magharapan tayo, mata sa mata, eyeliner to eyeliner."

(Like what I've been saying, the fight is even now. I'm not hiding anything, I don't fear anything. Let's face each other, eye to eye, eyeliner to eyeliner.)

The Vice President, she claimed, also lied in a video message to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs baring the alleged "palit-ulo" scheme in the war on drugs, where authorities would take a family member in case a person on the drug list cannot be found.

"Ang fake news ay ikaw, Vice President ng Pilipinas. Gagawa ka ng video, ipadadala mo sa international community, sa United Nations international -- parang about drugs. Sasabihin mo na libo-libo na ang pinapatay sa Pilipinas," she said.

(You're the fake news, Vice President of the Philippines. You'll make a video, send it to the international community, to the United Nations international -- something about drugs. You'll say that thousands have been killed in the Philippines.)

"Noong lumabas po iyung video na iyan, kumalat sa international community, iyung mga OFWs natin, na-discriminate, na-threaten ng mga ibang lahi na sinasabing 'Even your Vice President is saying that your President is a killer,'" she added.

(When that video came out, spread across the international community, our OFWs were threatened and discriminated by other nationalities commenting, "Even your Vice President is saying that your President is a killer.")

Uson added that her grammar errors and statement that Mayon is located in Naga City were all "honest mistakes."

She is ready to face any criminal complaint for supposedly proliferating fake news, she said.

Uson has repeatedly lambasted Robredo and the Liberal Party.

Last year, the sexy dancer-turned-Palace official hurled curses at Robredo during an online livestream of her radio commentary show, which led to its suspension.

Uson in the same year stirred talks about the "LeniLeaks" controversy, which allegedly shows a public Yahoo! groups message thread where supporters of Robredo's supporters and aides allegedly discussed the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Vice President has denied any participation in supposed plots to unseat the President. -Abs-Cbn
