FACT CHECK: Some transactions in alleged Paolo Duterte bank account were made on a Black Saturday, bank holidays

A Filipino scholar and a prominent social media personality Sass Rogando Sasot has recently discovered that some transactions in the alleged bank account of former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte.

In a Facebook post, Sasot pointed out the erroneous transactions made during holidays when banks are closed.

BIKOY, WE HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM!

This is the screenshot from Part 2 of the expose of the anonymous informant called ""Bikoy"

This is the summary of the 2018 bank transactions of a certain account number.

Five of these DEPOSITS happened on a WEEKEND and/or a bank holiday:

March 31 - Black Saturday
June 30 - Saturday
September 30 - Sunday
November 30 - Bonifacio Day
December 31 - New Years Eve

How is this possible?

Veteran journalist Bobi Tiglao also pointed out inaccuracies in the alleged bank statements showed on the black propaganda video.

"Check your own bank accounts - almost never is the balance .00. Laging may butal because of interest payments, bank charges, etc.," Tiglao commented on Sasot's post.

A Bank Account in Hong Kong's Central Bank?

Sass Sasot made another ridiculous discovery.

"KITTY SOSYAL KA MASYADO! MAY BANK ACCOUNT SA CENTRAL BANK NG HONG KONG!!!

Bikoy we have another problem. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

This is a screenshot from Part 2 of the expose of the anonymous Bikoy.

It shows an account number allegedly belonging to Kitty Veronica. According to Bikoy, the account is a bank in Hong Kong that's why Kitty and her mother always accompany PRRD there to "fix international bank transactions."

In Hong Kong, the FIRST THREE numbers = BANK CODE.

Kitty's alleged bank account's first three numbers are 001.

What's the 001 bank in Hong Kong?

HONG KONG MONETARY AUTHORITY

Hong Kong's currency board and de facto central bank.

Ano ba mga bes?"

Here's another one.

REAL BANK STATEMENT VS BIKOY'S BANK STATEMENT
Salamat sa isa kong reader for pointing this out.

Is it actually possible to perform an 'over the counter transaction' during a holiday when banks are closed? Unless you own a bank, that would not have been possible.

Meanwhile, opposition politicians, just like in the past, immediately took the opportunity to attack President Duterte and the first family using these absurd accusations.

Just like the previous accusations made by the beleaguered dirty politician Antonio Trillanes, these fresh accusations against Paolo Duterte are nothing but black propaganda.

Sass Rogando Sasot writes a bi-weekly Opinion Column (Tuesday and Thursday) in The Manila Times, the oldest English language newspaper in the Philippines and is currently based in The Netherlands. In 2013, Sass became the first Filipino to receive the ECHO Award, given annually to excellent migrant students in academic and higher professional education in The Netherlands.

In 2014, she graduated magna cum laude at Leiden University College-The Hague, with a Combined Major in World Politics and Global Justice, minor in International Development, with courses on U.S. Foreign Policy and International Relations of China taken at UCLA; and in 2017 she earned her master's in International Relations.
