Does the picture of the crowd at SEA Games Opening Ceremony look familiar? It's 'coz you've seen it before

This just popped into my mind.

After the spectacular opening rites of the 30th SouthEast Asian Games that the Philippines is hosting, there's one picture that lingered on my mind.

The crowd.

That looks very familiar.

I tried hard to remember where I've seen that before.

I know in myself that I have seen it. I'm very certain about it.

But I just can't figure out what event that was. Or where I've seen it.

Then. I remembered the picture of President Rody Duterte grooving together with the other spectators at the Philippine Arena.

Seeing the head of state celebrating with the whole crowd was so heartfelt.

Then in a snap.

It all went back.

In an instant, I was taken back at Luneta.

Year 2016.

I'm pretty sure it's summer. Summer of year 2016.

May 2016.

May 7, 2016 to be exact.

That was the miting de avance of Rodrigo Duterte.

This.

That crowd. The resemblance is uncanny.

Same plenitude of people.
Same euphoria.
The support is overwhelming.

Thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

Proud Filipinos waving the Philippine flag.
