PH Navy to have its newest frigate BRP Jose Rizal by May 23

South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has released a photo of Philippine Navy’s future frigate BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150). She is the lead ship of 2 ordered 107-meter frigates.
According to Navy chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo, the future BRP Jose Rizal is scheduled to depart South Korea May 18 and is expected to arrive May 23.

The technical inspection and acceptance are planned to be held in Subic.

“Aalis ng Korea sa May 18 na at darating dito sa Pilipinas on May 23. Dederetso siya sa Subic kung saan gaganapin ang ating technical inspection and acceptance,” the Navy chief said over dzRH last week.

Vice Admiral Bacordo noted that the ship is capable of anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, anti-submarine warfare and anti-electronic warfare.
