This Filipina nurse had a chance to talk with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi
Jessa Dawn Ubag, a Filipina nurse in Abu Dhabi had a rare opportunity to talk with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Pinay health worker considered that amazing experience as a recognition of the Filipino community in United Arab Emirates and with all the frontliners from the Crown Prince, based on the article from Rappler.

On May 13, Jessa had the chance to talk with the prince through video call in a gathering called “majlis” which for Arab culture is a venue where members of the community socialize and talk about social issues and other stuff.

Based on the report, the 31-year-old Pinay nurse who is from Dumaguete City said that talking to the Crown Prince gave her inspiration to do better in her service to those who need medical attention.

“We believe that we are an instrument of hope to give spiritual, mental and emotional support to our patients in time of despair. That’s why when Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince personally appreciated me, I felt he was recognizing all nurses for spreading hope,” she said.

Through the inspiring words from the Crown Prince, Jessa added that she and fellow nurses felt like that they are also heroes in their own ways.

In the 3-minute video, the Prince asked the Filipina nurse if how she was doing in her job. Then, Jessa shared her experience and the motivation that she gets every time there is a recovery among COVID-19 patients.

Before the video ended, the Prince asked Jessa if how her family is doing back home, she answered that her mother gets worried. However, the Pinay nurse always assures her mother that she is doing fine. Then, the Crown Prince said, “give her my best regard and tell her that you are with your second family.”
